I’m incredibly relieved that Lucas’ diarrhea has FINALLY stopped and he could continue his morning milk today. Both of us falling sick so badly has made me rethink my Motherly role – I’m going to cook porridge (xi fan) for his breakfast!

My dear old Chinese grandmother passed away this morning at around 11.30 am from breathing difficulties. Who were with her? Her youngest daughter, her daughter-in-law and the wretched Indonesian maid. She died in my uncle’s old apartment.

Nobody from either side of my family has ever hired a maid. My Ahma (Chinese=maternal grandma) has 11 children and yet, she took care of them on her own, cooked and even helped my grandfather with the family business.
