I was flipping through a magazine just now and came across a few articles about brewing your own wine and beer.
Hmm…interesting.
My mother-in-law once made her own red date wine and gave me a huge bottle, which turned out really good for steaming chicken and fish. Unfortunately, she forgot which shop she bought the D.I.Y. packs from…
Anyway, our favourite ayi gave me a bottle of her own home made wine, which I used to drink to stay warm during winter and also used a bit for cooking.
My mother-in-law’s wine making process sounded quite simple so I guess I could do it too provided I had a good fermenter.
After successful attempts to make our own kefir and yoghurt, I was actually thinking of making our own cheese but hey, Hubby said wine would be MORE interesting.
Hubby is a great help in the kitchen but I know he’ll be extra excited if we ever get down to making our own wines and beers ![]()
