A few nights ago, Hubby and I were talking about the fixer-uppers we’d need for the apartment.
We laughed about the various “interior decoration” projects we’d started but have not yet finished:
a) paint the front door a dark brown – one side is beige while one side is white
b) paint the living room and bedroom walls – I’d thought of a lilac/rose colour for the living room but Hubby thought it’s a bit too feminine especially as it isn’t a single girl’s apartment
What would be a neutral but bright colour?
Our apartment has great “feng shui” because we’ve got a mountain behind us, we get the morning sun, we get loads of sunlight and a strong breeze. Plus, we’ve got great neighbours. I think it’d be very difficult for us to give up our apartment!
c) replace the bathroom sinks
d) replace the sofa set – We wanted to do that last year but since the baby showed up, Hubby thought we should wait till she’s over the sticky fingers stage first LOL
I totally agree because she’s such a scribbler, she’s already destroyed so many of our books, walls and other household objects, I shudder to think of our landlord’s reaction when he sees his walls…
e) get another bookshelf for all the books that are currently packed up in boxes
f) change the hall lights – The current round bulbs are such a pain to clean and replace.
If you visit our apartment, you will find that it’s quite plain because I am a very practical person. Now that I’ve been a home-maker for a number of years, I now think that a practical home can be pretty too.
I’m sure Hubby would love ceramic switch plates, which add an elegant touch to your light switches. Aren’t they lovely?
