Long johns, sweaters, leggings, pants…

30 October, 2010

When the weather turned cold suddenly, I had to literally rush out to buy some cold weather clothing for the kids. Why?

The boy had outgrown his old stash of winter clothing, which I had carefully separated into autumn and winter piles, indoor and outdoor piles, “to be kept for the next kid” and “to be thrown” piles :D

Luckily, the little girl can wear his quilted pyjamas although they are rather bulky on her. I also have 3 other pairs a nice Mummy who moved back home handed down to me.

She can also wear the 3-4 pairs of his old long johns. I will only need to get her a few more pairs to tide us over the long, wet season when the sun doesn’t shine!

Now that he looks like the incredible Hulk in his old sweaters and old trousers, I’ve also had to buy a few turtleneck tops and jeans for school. He has 3-4 outdoor jackets which are good enough.

I had a bit of trouble looking for his quilted pyjamas and long johns because the old shops I frequented had changed their nature of business! They decided women’s underwear is more profitable :S

Thus, I’m still looking out for his long johns while he wears his Hulky ones (with much protest!!!).

With all the clothes shopping I’m doing, I wish I had coupons to get discounts. Unfortunately, not. Living with the four seasons is not cheap :-(
